I cut the cord!

I recently cut up my MasterCard and called to make sure all payments were clear and that the account was clear and I told the gentleman that I wanted to cancel my account. He asks for all my information, I give it to him and he says "Wow. You are a very valued customer.. How about we waive the yearly fee (which this 'fee' just recently seemed to just pop out of thin air for some reason) to keep you as a customer?" My reply: "No thank you. My scissors ate the card yesterday." I could hear the man laughing under his breath. We do still have one MasterCard that we will hang on to for emergencies only, so what is the point of having two? Feels so weird to have zero balances! Awesome feeling, but a weird one!
